August 2nd, 2008 - Intentional Acts of Kindness
A Good Idea decided to head down to the Ferry Bulding in San Francisco for the first flagship event called Intentional Acts of Kindness. The idea was to create a buzz, induce a few smiles, and most importantly, let people know that there is indeed a group out there looking to make some positive changes. Intentional Acts of Kindess is now a quarterly AGI event and always offers up a great day of helping complete strangers. To read about AGI's first event click here.
Since AGI's 1st Intentional Acts of Kindness was so successful, we decided to have it be the second event as well. This time around we also decided to hand out food to the homeless members of the community and end the day in Union Square for our 1st Silent Positivity Hour. Everyone wore plain white t-shirts with their own positive messages handwritten on the shirts. To read about this event click here.

Every Tuesday since June 2008 - AGI Weekly Meeting
Since June of 2008, almost every Tuesday evening, A Good Idea has met at the Red Victorian Peace Cafe. The weekly meetings serve as the foundation for A Good Idea. The meetings
provide us the space where we build community, visualize "good ideas" and cultivate compassion & empathy. The Red Vic is located on historic Haight Street and the establishment itself is a nonprofit. Click here to learn more about the meetings.
A Good Idea's biggest event to date was the A Good Day event that benefitted the homeless members of our community. It was a celebration of life that included two live musical acts, gourmet food, new cocktail attire and everyday comfortable clothes, manicures, pedicures, photographers, massages, and much, much more. Almost all goods and services included in the amazing event was donated by members of our community and volunteers.
December 14th, 2008 - A Good Day event for the Homeless members of the SF community
A Good Idea saw the need for the blend of service and socializing and created the "Call To Arms" volunteer event. The idea is to gather people to serve the city and then connect community by having those who served socialize after volunteering. This event that lasted from 11am-11pm was broken up into three parts: Cleaning the Mission district, food prep, and food handout to the homeless members of the community. Click here to read about the 1st Call To Arms event.
January 19th, 2009 - Call To Arms - City Clean-Up/Food Hand-out Social
February 20th, 2009 - Call To Arms - "Warm the City" Social
For A Good Idea's 2nd Call To Arms event, the group started at AGI partner Joie de Vivre's hotel The Good Hotel and then took to the streets to hand out food and warm clothes, blankets, and sleeping bags. Once again the idea was to connect with the homeless members of the community and most importantly to "warm the city". There were 30+ people who participated and it was all-around a great night.
March 9th, 2009 - Game Night with the Homeless
As part of A Good Idea's rotating monthly volunteer opportunities, AGI reached out to the Next Door homeless shelter to begin an ongoing series of volunteer opportunites. The idea of the game night is to build community within the shelter, connect with the residents, and simply have some fun. This night we had 17 volunteers play Bingo with over 80+ guests and it was a fun evening for all who participated. Check out the great pictures!
April 4th, 2009 - AGI Wellness & Self-Actualization Muir Woods Hike
In February 2009, A Good Idea started up a division called Wellness & Self-Actualization. The mission of WSA is to help people achieve their full potential through cultivating & maintaining a healthy mind, body and spirit. The division's events will feature monthly hikes, meditation nights, and many other events that are in-line with it's mission. For WSA's first event, they headed down to Muir Woods for a nature hike.
